Trend watch...
I am a terrible blogger. I haven't kept up on Japanese trends and haven't looked at J-mags in ages. I haven't even looked at the blogs I've been following. I have to admit I've been depressed. At the beginning of June I was supposed to be in Japan. At the end of May Kiki left. One of my travelers reminded me the other day we were in Japan this time last year. Not much to be happy about. So what have I been doing the bulk of June? Well, I got a tattoo (which isn't finished yet, Friday it will be) so that laid me up for a week. I've been trying to get out with friends as much as I can so I'm not depressed about how lonely I am.
Anyway, on with the blog. First here's the tattoo outline:
Ooh it was still all red there.
Next the purpose of this blog is to talk about a summer trend here that in going out and about I've noticed quite a bit. (What a terrible sentence.) I'm talking about the strapless dress. It's really trendy here right now. It could just be because it's 115° in the metro Phoenix area. I'm wondering if it's trendy elsewhere.
The reason I made this dress was because I didn't want fabric rubbing against the tattoo while it was healing. I don't normally dress like this (obviously you know that if you follow my blog) and it took me a while to get used to going out it public like this. Sometimes I still feel like I don't belong in this style. What am I gonna do? I'm not gonna ruin my tattoo.
So here's one of the first ones I made:
Dress made by me and shoes Shiekh.
Here's my sister wearing the same style of dress. (No, she didn't copy me. She's been wearing this style for a while.)
Then I made this one:
Next, I had been eyeballing this romper at Target and every time I was there I couldn't bring myself to spend $19.99 on. I seriously carried it around the store only to put it back before I got to the checkout. So, I decided to make my own.
Rompers are really trendy right now too.
Finally, I made The Clubbin' Dress (dubbed so by Amy):
So I want to know, is this a trend where you are? Or is it only in hotter places like AZ? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
I'm gonna check out some J-mags later with an eye out for this trend.

Summer!
Okay so summer is usually my off season. I've spent most my summer so far lounging in jammies. It's been nice. But I do have a couple things to show you. Hell if I remember the days so I'll just show you the outfits.
It's so hard to take pics of myself this way. I think I need a bigger mirror. Top Forever 21, necklace Payless, shoes Style & Co from Goodwill & shorts too, tank Wal-Mart.
Sweater Forever 21, tank Dillard's, shorts Goodwill and shoes Target.
Sunday:
Boots eBay, shorts Goodwill, sweater & tank Forever 21 and necklace Kohl's.
That's all for now. I hope you're having a great summer!
