Yeah sorry...

I haven't updated in a little bit.  I've been ridiculously busy getting ready for a huge event my work had.  But I have the day off which I've already decided to spend buried under covers and trying to catch up on my TV shows.  I have some kind of gunk (doesn't everyone right now) which is making me congested and hurty so I'm gobbling my dad's recipe of vegetable soup in heaping spoonfuls.  It's making me feel a little better.

This is just a quick clothes post and then I'm off to hide from the cold and rain.

I had the umbrella and even the scarf and gloves but it was really sunny and nice so I didn't need either of those.  (Someone snapped a lovely pic of me.)

I was quite popular and many people wanted their photo with me.  :D

I am currently quite sad.  It's no one thing but a combination of many things like something a friend said to me, my beloved garlic press breaking and my birthday looming on the horizon.  I usually get sad around my birthday but I do have some great activities planned so I am going to try to make it a great birthday.

Anyway, I presume you didn't come here to hear me whine but to see how stylish I can be.  Tokyo is insane right now.  The temperatures are way out of whack and I don't think it's settled on getting cold yet.  Here's what I wore this week.

A few outfits...

Today is my last weekday of vacation.  I still have the weekend though.  It's a bittersweet.  I am a little excited to go back to work but I am really enjoying the freedom of vacation. 

Today, I'm studying Japanese, drinking melon soda and eating an offensive amount of guacamole. 

Meanwhile, here are some clothes:

I had been trying to blog once a day but I don't know if I can keep that up when I go back to work.  In addition, working all day leaves out the possibility to run around and do fun things all the time.

Clothes...

Obviously, I wear clothes in Japan.  I try to be as fashionable as I can but them J-girls are showing me up all the time.  I wish it wasn't rude to take pictures of strangers.  In addition, I read that it's impossible to turn the shutter sound off on Japanese iPhones 'cause of the pervs taking upskirt photos.  Thanks pervs.

As you can see, I'm standing on a piece of cardboard because it is a huge no-no to wear shoes inside your house in Japan.  Yes, even if it's your house.  Got a lot of compliments on this outfit.  Jacket H&M, jeans Kohl's, tee Uniqlo, shoes Fergalicious, necklace Forever 21.

Please note that while my hair may look nice in all these pictures, it usually ends up looking like crap within five to ten minutes of stepping outside.  I often wonder why I bother to style it and it may be ponytailed throughout August as I heard that was the worst weather Japan has to deliver.

Difficult...

It's getting harder and harder to care about my appearance on the home stretch.  I really think that jeans and a t-shirt every day would just be so great.  Despite these thoughts, I tried to put together cute outfits this week.

Apparently it was Target week.  I just realized it now that I wore a lot from Target.  I used to shop there all the time but I've found that their prices are crazy these days.  Even Target is too expensive for me!

So despite having a perfectly crap week, I at least managed to look nice.

I didn't think this outfit was that great but I got some compliments on it so it must not have been that bad.  Shirt from H&M, pants and scarf Kohl's and shoes ($7) from Payless.

This week in style...

Over the long weekend before I got sick I picked out about 2 weeks worth of outfits so I would feel better about myself and my outfits. Unfortunately I got sick and didn't feel like wearing most of them. :(

Though I think I did okay being sick yet trying to stay fashionable. But you can see how red my face is.

My week has been full of yucky sick.  I hope yours is better!

New week...

Oh man I am nursing the worst headache right now.  On top of that my eyebrow piercing is throbbing.  I'm not sure what I was doing in my sleep last night or what kind of dreams I was having but it's been sore all day.  Ah well, on to the clothes.

Japan and one outfit...

Someone today asked me if my Japan trip was canceled.  He will remain nameless because well he's a dick.  I expressed my sadness in the fact that I had to cancel my trip and he turned around and attempted to make me feel like a careless bitch implying that I didn't give a shit about the Japanese people.  Fuck you asshole!  I wanted to shout at him but I didn't.  How dare he.  I probably care about Japan and the Japanese people more than I care about America and Americans.  I have many many friends in Japan and made an effort to insure they were all okay after not only the first but also the second earthquake.  I donated money to the Salvation Army (more than I did for Haiti).  I have worn my shirt in support of Japan every Friday since the earthquake.  So don't snarkily imply that I don't care about Japan.  If I didn't have a job and a house and a kid I would be over there right now picking up debris off the street.  Sorry for the rant.  That just really pissed me off.

Whew!  This is still a fashion blog right?

In truth I took off the shoes before lunch.  They are so cute but so painful!  (Hooray for looking skinny in pictures!)  Both tops YesStyle, necklace Lia Sophia, jeans Goodwill, shoes eBay and scarf from the Japanese magazine Miss (ミス).  A pink or white one came in the mag and I originally wanted pink but I'm glad I got white.  It goes with more.

So I went out of Saturday and since it wasn't so cold I wore this:

Week in review...

I think I've mostly kicked the sick (or at least the antibiotics did).  It's been and exhausting snotty week and I can't tell you how glad I am to have Monday off.

Anyway, here's Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

This is me winterizing a warmer weather outfit.  Though by the end of the day it was much too warm for all this.  Top from Wal-mart, boots and legwarmers eBay.  Tons of hair compliments.  :)

Ugh, I hate my hair in this pic.  There are a number of problems with the above outfit aside from my paperdoll stance.  This tank, from I can't even remember where, sags and can be revealing at times so I spent the day with my hoodie zipped up all the way.  The other problem is the Target skirt is so faded.  It's time to buy some Rit and break out the dye pot!  Other than that I guess it's okay.  :/  Leggins from Wal-mart, jacket and boots from eBay, necklace is from Kohl's.

Went out with the girls on Friday and wore this:

Shades of gray...

I guess my clothes match the icy weather in the morning.  It's chilly but tolerable during the day but frigid in the morning.  Despite the weather, I have been in a cheerful mood lately.  But I've been lax in posting.  So three days this week, three outfits.  I can't emphasize how much I need to pick out outfits the night before.  Ugh.  So indecisive this week!

Monday:

I don't know how happy I am with this outfit.  I guess it's okay.  Top from Goodwill, (E calls this my tutu) skirt from Kohl's, boots Overstock.com and necklace from 109.

Tuesday:

This outfit I really like.  How skinny I look!  I took this in the morning because I was afraid my hair would fall flat as always but surprisingly it stayed poofy all day!  Top and leggins from Kohl's, boots and legwarmers from eBay.

Wednesday:

Even though I got some compliments on this top/dress, I don't think it's very flattering and think it would be better with a wide stretchy belt.  Top from YesStyle, jacket Goodwill, leggins Zizibeh and boots Kohl's.

I love when I order something from Japan and it takes 100 years to get here so by the time it arrive I've forgotten I've ordered it.  So that's what happened with these legwarmers:

How do I love these?  Let me count the ways.  It's my first Nordic piece.  I really want a sweater but for the life of me I can't find one either here or online.  There's an ugly one at Kohl's.  No thanks.  I have no idea what to wear with them!  I want to wear them tomorrow.  Maybe I can think of something.  Anyway, I'm off.  It's been a busy week and will be a busier weekend too.  :(
