May 22nd:

SPECIAL NEW GIRL EDITION!

I know I already posted my clothes for last week and technically Sunday marks a new week but I couldn't wait to show off how awesome I am at copying!

If you know me at all, you know "New Girl" is my favorite TV show and Zooey Deschanel, my style icon.  Since it was a beautiful 75° this afternoon, I thought what better day to debut this outfit:

If I had a bottomless pocketbook like the "New Girl" wardrobe shoppers, I'd try to get my hands on everything from the show.  Meanwhile, I do what I can.  This sweater was out of stock when this episode aired.  Now back in stock and on clearance seemed the right time to buy it.  Unfortunately, this outfit was thwarted by temperatures that dropped twenty degrees in the 4 hours I was out today.  Not to mention a dust storm and a light drizzle (seriously Japan?!?!).  I promptly hit up Uniqlo for some pants as it's one of the few places in Japan with pants that fit my ass (literally).

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this look at New Girl fashion as modeled by me and I hope your weekend didn't go as quickly as mine did.

Yeah sorry...

I haven't updated in a little bit.  I've been ridiculously busy getting ready for a huge event my work had.  But I have the day off which I've already decided to spend buried under covers and trying to catch up on my TV shows.  I have some kind of gunk (doesn't everyone right now) which is making me congested and hurty so I'm gobbling my dad's recipe of vegetable soup in heaping spoonfuls.  It's making me feel a little better.

This is just a quick clothes post and then I'm off to hide from the cold and rain.

It was our late Halloween event and this was my costume.  If you don't get this, I don't think we can be friends.  But here's a hint:

I had the umbrella and even the scarf and gloves but it was really sunny and nice so I didn't need either of those.  (Someone snapped a lovely pic of me.)

I was quite popular and many people wanted their photo with me.  :D

Weekly wear...

Hello!  It's Saturday in Japan and the weekend before Halloween.  I've yet to see anything scary but I've been in my house.  I cleaned the place, did a ton of laundry and now I'm just waiting until 10 so I can get my bangs cut.  I also need to pop into the grocery store and pick up some things for cooking.

But I think you came here for the fashion?

Monday:

Tuesday:

I bought this jacket (?) ages ago and it's finally been cool enough to wear it!  It was on clearance too.  50% off!  There are no words for how much I love it.  Jacket (?) Putamayo, shirt Target, leggins Uniqlo, boots Couripie.

Thursday:

Sweater J. Crew, tights Daiei, shorts Goodwill, boots eBay (Shiekh).

That's Zooey D. on "New Girl" (like the best show ever).  It was one of my birthday presents.  Thanks Mom!

Friday:

I know I need to clean my mirror.  It's done as of now.  Trying to get in the Halloween spirit.  Outfit was well received even got a "cute" comment from the lady at the post office.  Hat CanDo, jacket Colleen Collection, shirt Uniqlo, bracelet Forever 21, skirt Kohl's, tights Tutuanna, socks Daiei and boots Payless.

Happy Anniversary!

(Disclaimer: I am fully aware what day it is but I never post political stuff because I don't want to argue with people.  Ergo no political stuff here or anywhere for that matter.)

Today is my anniversary!  What anniversary you say?  Exactly one year ago today to celebrate "New Girl" (which would premiere in 9 days) I got bangs.

Can you spot the differences?  Eyebrow piercing!  Dark ends!  Shorter hair!

If you don't know why I got bangs then you don't really know me at all, do you?  I think this marks the longest I've had bangs since I was a child.  Every time I had bangs before it was only for a couple of months.  Anyway, I enjoy the bangs and I think I'll keep them around for a while longer.  ;)

Dress week...

Hi everyone!

I've deemed this dress week and apparently me in dresses = a lot of compliments.  I also forgot to post one from last week (which isn't super spectacular but cute).  Also, dress week is the perfect time for Zooey D impressions.

Friday:

Monday:

Dress XI, sweater Colleen collection (Target) and shoes also Target.

Tuesday:

Unfortunately I can't tell you where I got this dress.  I bought it 100 years ago it seems.  Anyway sweater Colleen collection (Target) and shoes also Target.

I hope your week is swiftly coming to a close.   I have to get off the computer now as I have some serious dental work soon.  :(

Difficult...

It's getting harder and harder to care about my appearance on the home stretch.  I really think that jeans and a t-shirt every day would just be so great.  Despite these thoughts, I tried to put together cute outfits this week.

Apparently it was Target week.  I just realized it now that I wore a lot from Target.  I used to shop there all the time but I've found that their prices are crazy these days.  Even Target is too expensive for me!

Panic attack...

Okay so a couple weeks ago I decided that I should grown out my bangs.  If you've ever grown out your bangs, you know that this is a tedious and sometimes painful process.  THERE IS ALWAYS HAIR IN MY EYES!  I hate this and I know a lot of people do too except maybe emo kids.  I think maybe they enjoy it.  Anyway, tonite I'm kinda of watching TV (kinda means my face is glued computer and the TV is on and I watch it sometimes) and the new iPhone 4S commercial comes on starring Zooey D.  If you know me at all, then you know that she is my idol.  Total idol.  As in I idolize her.  She rocks.  Seriously.  Back to the story, I stopped what I was doing and glued my face to the TV.  I almost cried.  Literally almost tears.  I ripped myself away from the TV and went to the bathroom to cut the hell out of my bangs.  Now before you freak out, I have cut my bangs before and I actually own a pair of hair scissors so I didn't hack at it with the kitchen shears.  They had grown kinda long on one side and my sister trimmed them last week (I think) so it was more a matter of getting them even.  I think I did an okay job considering I've had no formal training.  This is probably the weirdest panic attack ever and I'm a bit embarrassed sharing this with you.
