明けましておめでとうございます!

It's already the new year in Japan and other places around the world.  Here it's still early.  I had a pretty uneventful day.

I went to Kohl's determined to buy a purse.  What a painful process!  At least they were 50% off which is much better than when I was there last time.

I ended up with this one:

I, of course, added the scarf and Asuka.  It's my signature color and I think it's a bit more solid than my other pink purse.  This one actually has a bottom and the straps don't slide all over the place.  So far, I like it.  No more gift cards.

Tonite my plans for New Year's Eve are very boring but it's okay.  I like it that way.  I had a nasty spot of dizziness earlier today so taking it easy tonite is on my agenda.  I ordered a pizza for dinner and I'm just about to take a hot bath and read.

Happy New Year everyone!

My matching skills are unmatched...

See what I did there.  Anyway, yeah so I wore this before I went to Disneyland but totally forgot to post it.  Oops!

I wore this to the Tron party.  Top from Goodwill, skirt & hairbow from Target, leggins from Wal-Mart, legwarmers from eBay.

You notice I didn't mention the shoes.  Because I wanted to feature them separately.  So here's a close-up:

These are Adidas, obviously and I found them at Goodwill.  Not only were they at Goodwill on a sale day but they were my size exactly!  What luck!  They are in nice condition too.  HOW COULD SOMEONE GIVE THESE AWAY?!?!?  Oh yeah, I know, so I could buy them.  :D  These are totally J★Style shoes.  Look in any magazine or any ABC Mart.  Anyway, I ♥ them so much.  Oh and btw they were $9.  Go me!

Kohl's!

Today I went up to the Kohl's to spend my gift cards.  The place was a madhouse!  Longs lines and people everywhere.  Plus, the clothes were mostly wiped out.  I was able to find a couple things though.

First, THE SKIRT.  The skirt I have been dying for forever was half off!  Yay!  And I got the last medium in the store!  So lucky!  Don't you just love it?

I also got this skirt which looks teal but is really more blue IRL:

Finally I got new slippers and the best leggins.  Seriously Simply Vera leggins are the best!  They are not transparent like many leggins out there.

And I still have plenty left on my gift card!  Yay Kohl's!

Christmas wear & other loves...

So my Christmas was great!  How was yours?  I thought I'd post some cute things I wore and some awesome things I got.

Christmas Eve:

Sweater from Japan, necklace from Kohl's, tights from eBay, boots from Overstock.com, skirt from Target.  Yay big hair!

Christmas Day:

Tank from Wal-Mart, sweater from eBay, jeans, necklace and boots from Kohl's.

Here's a close up of the boots:

The boots were a Christmas present from my mom and initially I didn't like them.  But then I tried them on.  They are fur lined all the way down and on the bottom.  They are so warm and comfortable!  Thanks mom!

Here are some other things I got.

A cute make-up bag from my grandma:

Do you think my family knows I love Kohls?

The cutest sheets from my mom:

The sheets on the bed and a beautiful quilt made by my great-grandmother.

And from my daughter:

Finally a place to store all my earrings!

That's all for now!

Cali (rainy) wear...

So Disneyland in the rain.  There were very few people there which was fun but the rain was not fun.  At least it was a light rain and not a pouring rain.  We got right in to almost every ride and only had to get a few fast passes.

This is what I wore (under my two jackets).

Monday:

(After the car ride.)  Top from YesStyle, boots and overshirt from Zizibh and jeans from Kohl's.

Tuesday (Disneyland day):

Forgive me.  I had (and am still recovering from) Pirate Eye.  How embarrassing.  Top from YesStyle, boots from Zizibeh and vest from eBay.  My hair didn't last, obviously.

Wednesday:

Jeans from Wal-Mart (self-ripped), tank from H&M, boots Zizibeh and top from Japan.

I am so glad to be inside and dry!

Shopping...

I'm having a really hard time right now.  Honestly, I spent a good chunk of the afternoon crying.  My wonderful friend, Beth, decided to cheer me up with sushi and shopping.  I actually did my first Christmas shopping of the season at a store!  I bought some gifts online already.  It made me feel better to get some Christmas shopping done.  I don't know what to get anyone which is sad since I usually pride myself on my shopping ability.

Next week (Mon - Wed) Kiki and I are going to Disneyland.  I really had boots on the brain but I don't have a pair of boots that would be comfortable to wear all day at Disneyland.  Well, Zizibeh solved that problem!  Kiki talked me out of the stylish high-heeled studded boots because she said I already had too many pairs like the ones I was looking at.  She's so sensible.  But she said I didn't have boots like these:

So I got the cute military style boots and they are SO comfortable!  I'm imagining them with a pair of leggins.  Hopefully, they'll be cute that way.

I also got this adorable red-eyed bobble bunny necklace for $2.95!

This is what I wanted to wear out:

But because it was a little chilly, I ended up changing sweaters:

I still haven't got the hang of mirror pics yet.  Leggins from Wal-Mart, skirt made by me, boots Kohl's, legwarmers and eared hoodie from eBay, 1st sweater and tank from Goodwill.

Hopefully, your spirits are up and you're getting all your Christmas shopping done.  :)

Oops!

It's been a lazy week where clothing is concerned but I did have a cute one on Monday that I forgot to post.  Oops!

Sweater from Karen (my sister), leggins and tank from Wal-Mart, necklace Lia Sophia, bow H&M and boots from Kohl's.

Not quite sure why I'm making a goofy face.

Week start!

My feet are killing me!  Plus, I hardly slept at all last night.  Not good.  I had troubles sleeping Sunday night too.  Not the best way to start the week.  At least I looked fabulous or at least that's what they say.  I got compliments on both these outfits.

Monday:

Top and necklace from Kohl's and everything else (except the eBay boots) from Target.

Tuesday (without hoodie):

With hoodie:

Hoodie and boots from eBay, shirt and skirt from Goodwill and vest from XI.

Don't know what much will come of the rest of the week but it started off pretty good.  :)

Retail therapy...

I know that it's Christmastime and I shouldn't be buying anything for myself.  The truth is I don't have enough money for Christmas presents until the next paycheck which is when I'll be buying all my gifts.  I have no idea what to get anybody anyway.  Truth be told I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas.  I always get really depressed this time of the year.  I try to be cheerful and decorate the crap out of my house and listen to Christmas music but most time it doesn't help.  I don't even want to talk about the Christmas light debacle today.

Moving on, Kohl's was feeling generous again and sent me another $10 off any purchase card.  I had initially gone in to get some basics since they are always cheap at the Kohl's but I didn't see anything I liked.  I noticed that the cropped military jacket display was gone so I almost ran to clearance.  I don't know how many times I've bought something at Kohl's only to find it a couple weeks later on clearance.  Man that pisses me off.  Well there it was and only $8!  I also found this cute tank (good for layering).

Total spent: $3.70.  And since I sold another chunk of books I had some cash.

I am in tremendous pain right now and my head hurts too.  So with that I bid you adieu.

One exciting day...

Today I woke up with my teeth clenched so hard that there was a tremendous pain in my mouth and I spit out some blood this morning.  I wonder what the hell I was dreaming about.  I think I vaguely remember that it wasn't something good.  I'm not a teeth grinder so it couldn't have been that.  It must have been just a crazy bad dream.

Anyway, I have been wanting to wear this fur vest for some time.  Unfortunately, I later learned it ending up being a little too warm for it.

I still looked cute though.  I realized today that damn these boots really hurt after wearing them all day!  Top from Wal-Mart, vest and boots from eBay, necklace Lia Sophia and jeans from Goodwill.

Today while picking up my prescription at CVS they decided to give me a $4 off any Revlon product.  I couldn't pass that up so I bought this:

It's Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara plus free liner.  I have been itching to try this for a while and thanks to CVS it was affordable ($6).  I'm going to give it a go tomorrow and I'll let you know what I think after using it for a while.  I've been afraid to try that Latisse not only because of the price but because I'm afraid of the side effects.

So yeah that was my exciting day.

What's in your purse?

Many Japanese magazines do a segment that I like to call "What's in your purse?"  They feature girls and their purses.  In addition they picture all the contents of the purse.  I don't know why I love this so much.  I guess it's the scopophiliac in me.  Anyway, since I didn't have anything special to wear yesterday nor today I thought I'd feature what's in my purse.

This is my current purse:

Thanks Colleen!  It's a nice Christmas color.  Obviously, the Mario mushroom and Asuka are from Japan (2010).

Here are the contents:

I crossed out the mints because they're gone.  I also have my totem with me always.  It's not pictured.  In the Girl Scout Survival Pack are things like toothpaste and toothbrush, Advil, Pepto, Chapstick, nail file and clippers, safety pin, hair pins, etc.

So there you have it.  What's in your purse?

Polka dot pretty!

Alternate title: Black & white blocking

Today I wore this:

Top from H&M, skirt from Target, necklace Lia Sophia, legwarmers and boots from eBay.

I don't like my hair.

4 days...

It's been a very restful and productive 4-day weekend.  I did manage to wear one cute thing on Thanksgiving.

Please excuse the bulge in the middle.  It's the unflattering gear on the top of my cargo skirt.  Thigh socks and sweater from Target, skirt from Goodwill, necklace from JCPenny, boots from eBay and tank from H&M.

Who the hell goes shopping on Black Friday?

It's Wednesday night and a little over twenty-four hours before many stores open for what's dubbed as "the biggest shopping day of the year."  Now don't get me wrong.  If you know me you know I love shopping but I do not nor will not go shopping on Black Friday.  I used to work at Bashas'.  On Black Friday the store was dead because no one wanted food and everyone was out at malls and such.  I think my least favorite thing about shopping would be some broad standing right in front of what I want to look at.  For Black Friday, multiply that times 1000000 and you can see why I don't shop on Black Friday.  Remember that Wal-Mart employee who was trampled on Black Friday?  I mean what the fuck people?  It's is too much madness for me.  In addition, I have absolutely NO IDEA what to get anyone this year nor do I have money to shop right now.  Black Friday never falls on a payday for me.  I don't think it would matter if it did though.

But I honestly want to know.  Do you go shopping on Black Friday?  And why?

Today was my Friday since I have the next two days off.  I did manage to cute it up a little.

Do these boots make my legs look HUGE?  Or is it pretty evident that they are big furry boots?  They certainly are the warmest boots I own.  Boots from Old Navy, jeans from Kohl's and top from Wal-Mart.  This was the second day of the braid out hairstyle.  As you can see it fell flat but still was crimpy.

I wonder what to wear to Thanksgiving tomorrow...

Wild girl...

Title courtesy of my friend Amy because she said I look like a real wild girl today.  I love this outfit.  I love my hair.  A total win today.

Tank $3 at Wal-mart (I bought 3), skirt from Target, tights from Claire's, necklace from Forever 21, legwarmers and boots from eBay and the star sweater from H&M.

November 22, 2010

Oh the week begins...

I was ridiculously tired this weekend.  On Saturday night, it was my intention to watch SNL but I fell asleep with my glasses and remotes on the bed.  In the middle of the night my remote fell to the floor and I woke up startled.  Craziness.

On Sunday, daughter and I went to breakfast and grocery shopping.  I wore this:

Adoraboots from Old Navy, top & jeans from Goodwill and necklace from JCPenny.

I used さらまり's hair tutorial to do my hair.

I think it turned out pretty spectacular.  I love my hair like this.

Today I wore this:

Top from Old Navy, skirt from Target, vest from Japan 2009 and necklace Lia Sophia.

P.S. - Thanks to Trixie my newest follower!

Crazy week...

It has been one.  I tell you!  Crazy at work and crazy here at home.  Last night I crashed out before 9:30PM!  I feel like I've had zero free time this week and I'll definitely have none this weekend.  So, I better get my outfits up now because there will be no time later.

In other completely unrelated news, I think I had a stroke.  I'm pretty sure that's not true but hell I feel like I did.  My face has been numb for about three days and I've had arm soreness.  I haven't done anything out of the ordinary.  It's kind of disconcerting to feel so odd and not know why or how to fix it.   I don't have time (or money) to go to a doctor right now so I'm just taking Advil and hoping it will go away.

Since I haven't posted at all this week, I'll be featuring all my outfits right here.

Monday:

I didn't wear my hair back that day but it looked like crap so I tied it back for the photo.  I think I like this outfit.  What do you think?  Sweater from Goodwill, shirt from Japan, skirt I made, boots & necklace from Kohl's and legwarmers from eBay.

Tuesday:

I had to wear my new boots but I left something out.  I meant to wear legwarmers but was running behind and forgot them.  Top & necklace from Japan, sweater from Goodwill and boots from Kohl's.

Wednesday:

My favorite thing about winter is piling on the layers.  (My face looks funny 'cause my photog made me laugh.)  Top and sweater from Goodwill, skirt from Target, necklace Lia Sophia and boots from eBay.

Thursday:

Not so sure how keen I am on this.  Right now, not very.  Necklace from Forever 21, sweater from Goodwill and boots from eBay.

Now off to watch "SoA."

November 13, 2010

100 posts!

I'm sure that's a milestone right?  Anyway, I think it's cool that I've been around for a year and 100 posts.

On Thursday, I had lunch with my mom.  Since it was pretty nice outside, I wore this:

The top (decorated by me) and the boots are from Kohl's.  Legwarmers are from eBay, necklace from Payless and shorts from Goodwill.

I went mostly window shopping at Kohl's.  I had a $10 off coupon.  Thanks Kohl's and keep sending them!  I was actually in a great shopping mood and then something happened and put me off on shopping.  So I mostly moped around the store looking at everything I couldn't afford.  I did manage to find an adorable pair of boots on clearance so with the coupon they were dirt cheap.  Oh, btw they were originally $49.99.  Yeah, never.

I love houndstooth.  I have a hat that matches perfectly!

During the window shopping I thought I'd take pictures of some things I liked.

So Kohl's has fur vests:

I tried on the middle one and I looked hideous.  In the background are the cropped military coats.  I tried on the army green colored one and it looked great but alas it's too much for me right now.

I've wanted this skirt forever:

Again, can't afford.

It was impossible not to fall in love with this:

Love it!

There were some other things I liked but didn't photo like this:

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed window shopping with me!  Happy 100 Posts J★Style!

Color & Nordic...

I lost a follower.  :(  I don't know how to get more followers.  I think my blog is interesting and I read and comment on a lot of blogs.

Anyway, this blog is not a bitch session even though I am currently in bed suffering from a terrible stomachache.  I'm here to feature two things I just love: color and Nordic print (which I can't really seem to find in the desert).

Here we go!  (Photo heavy!)
